Build your network

Posted on June 25, 2018 - 2:07 pm

The concept of networking is typically linked to the idea of joining professional networks and business associations. However, networking is more than that; it’s about building relationships and helping people.

We’re exposed to networking opportunities every day, as multiple networks surround us all.

Your network includes:

• friends and family members

• people in your community

• parents at your children’s school

• former classmates or colleagues

• peers on your weekly sports team

• your mentor or mentee

Be warm and friendly with everyone you meet – both personally and professionally – to build and maintain your relationships. By doing so, those in one of your networks will feel comfortable connecting you with someone in one of their networks – thereby expanding both your network and your opportunities.

Who would you like to be connected with?
