Child Safety & Protection Standards (CSAE)
Last updated: August 22, 2025
MentorCity Inc. (“we,” “our,” “us”) has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any form of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) on the MentorCity App and platform. These standards are published to set clear expectations for all users and customer organizations that operate programs on MentorCity.
Scope
These standards apply to everyone using the MentorCity App and platform, including administrators, mentors, mentees, moderators, and guests, as well as all content uploaded, created, shared, or transmitted through MentorCity.
Our Commitments
- Zero tolerance: We prohibit CSAM/CSAE and the sexualization of minors in any form, including images, videos, audio, text, links, and AI-generated content.
- Rapid action: We promptly restrict access to, remove, and report any suspected CSAM/CSAE and may suspend or terminate accounts involved.
- Lawful reporting: Where required or appropriate, we report incidents to relevant authorities and child-protection hotlines and cooperate with lawful investigations.
- User tools: We provide mechanisms to report abuse, block users, and notify program administrators.
- Safety by design: We continually review product controls, permissions, and moderation workflows to reduce risk and prevent re-upload.
- Privacy: We limit access to abuse reports to authorized personnel and preserve evidence when required by law.
Age & Participation
- MentorCity is primarily designed for adult professionals. Some customer programs may include participants aged 5–17; those programs must ensure appropriate consent, supervision, and local-law compliance.
- Accounts for children below the digital consent age in their region are not permitted without verifiable consent from a parent/guardian and the operating organization.
Prohibited Content & Conduct
The following are strictly forbidden and will result in removal and enforcement actions:
- Any CSAM/CSAE: real or simulated depictions of minors in sexual contexts; sexualized imagery of minors; erotic posing of minors; sexual violence involving minors.
- Grooming, sexual solicitation of minors, sharing sexual messages with minors, or attempts to obtain sexual content from minors.
- Links to, or instructions for accessing, CSAM/CSAE anywhere off-platform.
- Attempts to evade detection or re-upload removed content.
Reporting & Response Process
- Report: Users and administrators can report suspect content or behavior via in-app report tools or by email to our safety contact below. Include URLs, usernames, dates, and any context.
- Immediate restriction: We promptly restrict access to flagged material while reviewing.
- Review & removal: Trained reviewers evaluate reports and remove content that violates these standards. Accounts may be suspended or terminated.
- Preservation & reporting: We preserve relevant data as required and report CSAM/CSAE to applicable authorities/child-protection hotlines.
- Notification: Where appropriate and lawful, we notify reporting parties and affected program owners of outcomes and required follow-ups.
Moderation & Enforcement
- We use a combination of user reports, administrative controls, and human review. We may deploy industry-standard safety technologies and signals to detect and prevent abuse.
- Violations may result in content removal, feature restrictions, account suspension/termination, and notification of customer program owners and authorities.
- We may block devices, IPs, and hashes associated with confirmed violations and take measures to prevent re-upload.
Responsibilities of Customer Organizations
- Designate a program safety lead to respond to user concerns and coordinate with MentorCity when incidents arise.
- Configure permissions (e.g., file uploads, group visibility) appropriate to your audience, especially if minors are present.
- Provide participant guidelines on appropriate conduct and clear instructions for reporting concerns.
